First pop-up · 08.08 Buffalo Wings · Tokyo

Tokyo's never had real Buffalo wings. Until now.

Crispy-fried, tossed to order in scratch-made sauce, and served the way a Buffalo bar would serve them — fries, celery, and ranch on the side. No shortcuts.

Our Story

America and Japan, one table.

THE GATEWAY started with a simple problem: after years in Tokyo, we couldn't find a single wing that tasted like home. So we built one — an American wife and a Japanese husband, one kitchen, and a recipe tested until it was right.

Our name comes from the Gateway Arch — a doorway between two worlds. That's what every pop-up is meant to be: the gateway between American food culture and Tokyo, one order of wings at a time.

Today, it's a pop-up. Tomorrow, Japan's home for Buffalo wings. We're building this brand event by event — and we want you there from the start.

FAQ

Good questions.

Medium is classic Buffalo heat — you'll feel it, but it won't ruin your day. Lemon Pepper has no chili heat at all, and Caribbean Jerk sits in between with a warm, spiced burn.

We accept cash and cashless payments at our pop-ups. Payment details for each event are posted on Instagram before doors open.

Both! We're a bilingual team — order in whichever language you're comfortable with.

It happens — wings are made in limited batches. Follow @thegateway_buffalowings for live stock updates during every event, and come early to be safe.

We're planning a series of pop-ups across Tokyo in 2026. New dates always drop on Instagram first — follow along so you don't miss one.
